WGOS 4

This section details the requirements of the WGOS 4 service level.

 

Medical Retina Referral Refinement and Monitoring

Practitioners must hold a Professional or Higher Certificate in Medical Retina to be able to deliver this service.

The availability and requirements of these pathways will vary according to each Local Health Board and you should contact your Local Health Board or Optometric Advisor for further information.

 

National Hydroxychloroquine Monitoring Service (NHMS)

This service enables practitioners with a Professional or Higher Certificate in Medical Retina to monitor patients at risk of Hydroxychloroquine retinopathy.

In addition to a Professional or Higher Certificate in Medical Retina, practitioners will also be required to undertake cognition of Hydroxychloroquine Retinopathy and relating to image capture.

Additional equipment will also be required to be able to deliver this service.

Glaucoma or Ocular Hypertension Referral Refinement and Monitoring

Practitioners must hold a Higher Certificate in Glaucoma to be able to deliver this service.

The availability and requirements of these pathways will vary according to each Local Health Board and you should contact your Local Health Board or Optometric Advisor for further information.
